  • Gynecology General Care

We provide a variety of services to care for your gynecologic needs.

    Abnormal PAP

Abnormal pap smears range from ASCUS to High Grade Dysplasia (HGD or HSIL) with or without high risk human papilloma (HPV) infection. Full in office care is provided for any of these pap results, including follow-up, colposcopy, LEEP and cryotherapy. For evaluation of your abnormal pap smear, please call for an appointment.

  • Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding

Abnormal vaginal bleeding is also known as AUB (abnormal uterine bleeding.) AUB refers to uterine bleeding of abnormal quantity, duration or schedule. Causes of abnormal uterine bleeding can differ in reproductive aged women and menopausal women. For evaluation of your abnormal vaginal/uterine bleeding, please call for an appointment.

  • Colposcopy

Colposcopy is a diagnostic procedure in which a colposcope machine is used to evaluate the cervix of patients with abnormal pap smears. A colposcope is a microscope that magnifies views of the cervix to identify and evaluate abnormal cervical tissue, causing the abnormal pap smear. This procedure identifies those who need cervical treatment and those who can continue with surveillance. For evaluation and treatment of your abnormal pap smear, please call the office for an appointment.

  • LEEP (Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure)

A LEEP, also called a LLETZ procedure, is an excisional diagnostic treatment procedure performed on more advanced cervical dysplasia found on pap smears and colposcopy. The LEEP procedure utilizes a thin wire loop with electrical current to excise abnormal cervical tissue. It is performed in office with local anesthetic to provide comfort. Please call the office for an appointment to discuss the LEEP procedure and to decide if you are an appropriate candidate.

  • STD

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are a major health risk that affect millions of women each year. The most common STDs are chlamydia and gonorrhea. If left untreated, STDs can cause complications including infertility, pelvic pain and cervical cancer. Many STDs do not cause symptoms. This screening is an important part of routine gynecological care. If you currently have symptoms, have been exposed to or wish to have screening, please call the office for an appointment.

  • Contraceptives/Family Planning

Contraception and family planning are highly individualized to meet the individual’s goals and personal preferences. Timing of intercourse, barrier methods, pills, implants and IUDs are all available for discussion and provided as needed and requested.

  • Endometrial Biopsy and Office Hysteroscopy

Abnormal uterine bleeding may warrant a work up that includes endometrial sampling and office hysteroscopy, especially in those above 35 years old. A small tube is inserted through the cervix into the uterus to obtain an endometrial sample. After, a small scope is inserted into the uterus to evaluate the endometrial cavity in a minimally invasive manner. Endometrial causes for abnormal bleeding include, infection, polyps, fibroids and precancer and cancer of the uterus which can be diagnosed through this minimally invasive in office procedure. Please call for an appointment to evaluate your abnormal uterine/vaginal bleeding and schedule appropriate testing and treatment.

  • Contraceptive Placement

Intrauterine devices (IUDs) and Nexplanon contraceptives are long acting reversible contraceptives that require placement in the office. IUDs are placed inside the uterus. Nexplanon is implanted under the skin of the inner, upper arm. Please call the office for an appointment to discuss contraceptives that are appropriate for you.
